Davenport man charged with beating girlfriend, killing her cat over beer

July 3, 2001 By admin

A Davenport man is in the dog house after allegedly beating up his girlfriend and killing her kitten. 47-year-old William Haneghan is charged with domestic abuse and animal cruelty. Police say he punched and choked the 43-year-old woman and broke the cat’s neck. Haneghan was reportedly angry because the woman had consumed his beer. He told her what happened to her cat could happen to her.
