Maytag completes purchase of Amana appliances

August 1, 2001 By admin

The sale of Amana’s major appliance and commercial microwave oven businesses to Maytag has been completed. Newton-based Maytag made the announcement to buy the Amana divisions in early June for 325-million dollars. A transition team is in place to lead the integration of the companies. Maytag expects the acquisition to add 900-million dollars to the corporation’s annual sales.
