The coach who led the Davenport East team to Little League’s World Series for the second straight year has been suspended from his job. Matt Koler has sold yellow pages advertising for Qwest for nearly 16 years. He’s been suspended two weeks without pay for missing work last week while the team was playing in the tournament. Koler says he was notified last Monday to return to work, the same day the team lost its second game of preliminary play. He stayed until the team was eliminated the following night. Qwest charged Koler, the team’s coach for nine years, with job abandonment.
