Two die in Des Moines domestic dispute

September 7, 2001 By admin

A domestic dispute today in Des Moines led to two deaths. The estranged husband of a Des Moines woman apparently shot his wife and then killed himself this morning. The couple’s daughter had been in the home when her father arrived with a shotgun and told her to leave. She ran out and called 9-1-1. After killing his wife, the man reportedly set fires around the home before killing himself. The woman had obtained a restraining order to try to prevent her husband from contacting her.
