Illinois woman dies after Iowa accident

September 17, 2001 By admin

An Illinois woman is dead after a wreck in Davenport that involved an emergency vehicle. Twenty-four-year-old Charlon Johnson, of Rock Island, died Sunday after the accident last Tuesday morning. Police say Johnson’s car rear-ended another vehicle, driven by 31-year-old Erica Edwards of Davenport. Edwards’ car hit a Davenport fire truck. Johnson’s car then sheared off a fire hydrant. Edwards is in fair condition in a hospital. No one aboard the fire truck was hurt.
