Perry remembers Korean War vets

September 22, 2001 By admin

After all the memorials for those killed in the terrorist attacks, the central Iowa town of Perry is holding a different kind of event this weekend. Organizer Harley Weyer says the memorial service for Korean War veterans starts at 8 a-m today. Weyer is chairman of the committee organizing this weekend’s “Sentimental Journey” in Perry. He says all events will focus on the 1950s-era.The centerpiece of the sentimental weekend is tonight’s concert by Pat Boone who’ll be singing 50s music and some of his gospel favorites.
