Mason City residents will soon have a new pool but are not ready to get ridof a temporary councilman. Mason City voters have said “yes” to the issuance of two million dollars in bonds to fund the construction of a new aquatic center to replace the crumbing municipal pool. Seventy-two percent of voters supported the pool proposal. In the second ward, the interim councilman continues to keep his title, but now has a victory in an election to put in his cap. Al Zook replaced a councilman who died. Zook must stand for election, again, in November.
