Illegal immigrants arrested in Stuart

October 10, 2001 By admin

For the second time this week, a group of people has been arrested in Iowa, accused of being in the U-S illegally.
Fifteen immigrants were detained in Stuart this morning after a routine traffic stop on the town’s south side. Police say the men were riding in a van when an officer saw them throw some cardboard out the car’s window. The officer stopped the vehicle and says the fifteen men inside were illegal aliens. He held them and called Immigration. The fifteen were taken to Omaha, where they’ll be processed and INS officials say they’ll likely be deported.
