Still trying to choose a Halloween costume? The owner of the Theatrical Shop in West Des Moines says there’s clearly a trend.Kathy Harkrader says folks are snapping up the patriotic Uncle Sam and Statue of Liberty costumes. Harkrader says Halloween’s not just for kids anymore. She sees a big increase in folks who plan to dress in costume for work Wednesday. The youngest customers seem to be those most interested in dressing up as America’s New Heroes. She says very young children are asking to be firemen, more of an increase there than among adults. Harkrader says other kids want to dress as police and soldiers, too. But she says there will be plenty of comic book and T-V-star favorites roaming the neighborhood on Beggar’s Night, too.
