While many airports are again beefing up security in light of the latest terrorism alert, the Waterloo Airport is removing barriers. Assistant airport director Kim Bakker says people can now drive up to the front of the terminal and short-term parking has also been re-opened.Bakker says clearance to re-open the parking areas came from the F-A-A after a review of the safety and economic loss to airports. She says they determined it was safe. However, Strict security measures -inside- the airport will be kept in place. Waterloo Mayor John Rooff hopes people will use the city’s airport now more than ever, as he says fears over flying have begun to ease.
