Simpson women ranked highly in basketball

December 3, 2001 By admin

The Simpson College women’s basketball team is ranked 17th in the latest division-three national poll. The Storm are 4-0 on the season and coach Brian Niemuth had high hopes for this team with a lot of players coming back.Simpson had its string of three straight Iowa Conference championships snapped last season and Niemuth says the players are focused on making another run. He says losing the conference championship has made the team more focused on this season. Niemuth says the bench has developed quickly, with some new people giving him more depth than what he expected.Simpson returns to action at home against Wartburg on December seventh.
