Some Davenport families get White Christmas guarantee

December 21, 2001 By admin

No matter what happens with Mother Nature, a few families in Davenport have their snow already.Davenport hasn’t received much snow so far this winter, but five households still will have a white Christmas. They won a TV station contest guaranteeing them snow for the holidays. The “snow” is actually shavings from a hockey arena in Moline and a skating rink in Davenport. Public-works department trucks were hired to deliver the white stuff, and they started yesterday and expect to finish up today.
