The state’s received a check for nearly 119-thousand dollars from TAP Pharmaceutical Products. The maker of Lupron gave away “free” samples of the drug promoted for treating prostate cancer, but then allegedly billed for the drug on government forms. Kevin Techau, director of Iowa’s Department of Inspections & Appeals, says the company also inflated the price of its product. The refund from the pharmaceutical company will be deposited in the state’s Medicaid account.
