Scared of driving tonight because of al the New Year’s Eve revelers? You shouldn’t be frightened, according to Officer Gary Ludwig, a spokesman for the Iowa State Patrol’s Mason City post. He says more people are thinking before they drink and drive.Ludwig has some suggestions for those who know they’ll be out partying tonight. He says using the basis of waiting one hour per drink you’ve had before driving is a good rule.Ludwig says statistics show the number of New Year’s holiday fatalities is decreasing.Ludwig reminds motorists to allow plenty of time to get to their destination and to follow the posted speed limits.
