Race car driver gets another spin in court

A new sentencing date has been set for an eastern Iowa race car driver who rammed his car into another racer. 43-year old David Dains of Marengo was convicted of second-degree criminal mischief for the incident in July of 1999 at the Buchanan County Raceway.Dains rammed his car into that of another driver in the pit area after an argument. Dains was originally sentenced to five years in prison on criminal charges. The Iowa Court of Appeals ruled Dains should be resentenced. That re-sentencing will take place January 24th in Benton County.
