A 40-year-old Waterloo man faces first-degree arson charges for torching the home in which he was living. Darryl Speller turned himself in after authorities determined he lit the house fire on January 12th. The woman who owns the house was inside but got out with minor injuries. Speller was inside the house, too, but got out safely. Speller faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. Investigators say the home suffered about 20-thousand dollars damage.
