Oskaloosa police responded to a bomb threat at a tavern early today and made an arrest.Mahaska County’s 9-1-1 dispatchers got a call from a pay phone indicating a bomb would go off at the Alley Pub at half-past midnight. Police responded to the bar within one minute and evacuated everyone. No suspicious devices were found. A suspect was arrested nearby: 28-year-old Michael Elsey of Oskaloosa is charged with one count of false reports. If convicted, he would face up to five years in prison. Elsey is being held in the Mahaska County Jail and will appear in court later today.
