There’s a huge fire in the small central Iowa town of Dallas Center this morning. Folks at the scene have been reporting to Dallas Center City Clerk Shirley Petersen.Petersen’s been told the Heartland Co-op’s car care center has been destroyed.Petersen says when the first worker arrived this morning, there was smoke in the building, then the fire just erupted. The co-op’s open for business, despite the fire, because the blaze hasn’t reach other parts of the operation, like the elevators or farm supplies. Fire crews from four neighboring cities have been helping fight the fire.
