March 5, 2002 By admin

As Iowa schools face budget cuts, at least their safety programs won’t have to suffer. The Triple-A Motor Club of Iowa and Minnesota is marking its 100th birthday by offering 100 grants of 100-dollars each to elementary and secondary schools in the two states. Triple-A’s Barb Buchholz says the money has to be used for programs like safety patrol.Triple-A was founded on March 4th, 1902. Buchholz says the grants can also go toward other safety-related programs, like those promoting seat belt use, safe bike riding or helmet use and school bus safety. For details, contact Buchholz at Triple-A’s office in Burnsville, Minnesota, at (952) 707-4464.
