Suspect arrested in three-county crime spree

A central Iowa man jailed in Mahaska County is accused of a short career asa one-man crime wave. Twenty-eight-year-old Rickey Blodgett faces burglaryand theft charges in Mahaska, Marion and Jasper counties. Authorities thinkhe’s behind five house burglaries in the last week, in which guns,electronics and jewelry were taken. One man says he was held at gunpointafter he walked into his parents’ Mahaska County home and found a burglaryin progress. Blodgett’s being held in the Mahaska County jail.
