Teacher of Year is from Des Moines

Iowa’s 2002 Teacher of the Year was honored this afternoon in Des Moines. “Teacher of the Year” Jennifer Erbe of Marion is a third-grade teacher at Starry Elementary, where she’s been teaching for seven years.Erbe spoke at a ceremony this afternoon at the State Historical Building. Iowa Department of Education director Ted Stilwell praised her skills.Erbe’s a graduate of Kirkwood Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. She’s also a Nationally-Board Certified teacher, a distinction she earned two years ago.
