Fairfield residents face sex charges over Internet incident

March 29, 2002 By admin

Two former Fairfield residents face sex charges as a result of an incident that happened in December. Thirty-year-old Justin Robert Nielsen and his wife, Ann Schwartz-Nielsen, are currently awaiting trial on grand jury charges after allegedly enticing a 15-year-old girl from Indiana over the Internet, bringing her to Fairfield, and engaging in sexual acts. According to court documents, Justin Nielsen met the minor in a chat room over the Internet last summer. In December, the Nielsens then allegedly drove to Indiana and transported the minor back to Fairfield, where an alleged sexual encounter took place. A missing persons investigation led authorities to the minor’s home in Indiana, where the Nielsen’s vehicle was reportedly spotted near the place where the young girl was staying. State and Federal law enforcement agencies took part in the investigation that led authorities to Fairfield. The Nielsens are being held in Des Moines, awaiting a trial that the U.S. Attorneys Office has tentatively scheduled for May 13.
