Central holds slim edge as softball race wraps up

Central College has a one game edge as the final week of the Iowa Conference softball race begins. The Dutch lead Wartburg by a game in the standings and lead Simpson by two heading into tomorrow’s doubleheader with the Storm. Central will close out the regular season at home against Wartburg later this week.Central coach George Wares says one bad doubleheader can change the complexion of the race. He says at the beginning of the season he’d gladly take the scenario they’re in now.Wares says the key will be the team that makes the big plays.
