Congressman says Middle East conflict needs resolution soon

May 4, 2002 By admin

Congressman Jim Leach says years of conflict loom if the Arab/Israeli conflict isn’t resolved soon.Leach says settling the Middle East issue should be top priority for the Bush foreign policy team, and he says if they don’t get it right in the very near future, the ramifications will last for decades if not centuries.Leach says the U-S will be in big trouble if we don’t start “respecting the concerns” of the world’s one billion Muslims.Leach says it’s crucial to establish a Palestinian State. *Leach says the U-S needs to put as much effort into the Middle East peace process as is being expended fighting al Qaeda terrorists. Leach made his comments on “Iowa Press” which airs on Iowa Public Television at noon on Sunday.
