Southwest Iowa deputy hurt in chase

May 9, 2002 By admin

A law-enforcement officer and a suspect were hurt during a chase this morning in southwest Iowa. The Fremont County sheriff’s office reports the chase started in Montgomery County, went through part of Mills County, and ended in Fremont County. Both the injured people were taken to the Shenandoah Medical Center — neither had life-threatening injuries. The chase ended southwest of Shenandoah, on a highway known locally as the Farragut Road. A Fremont County deputy was also in a separate accident as the chase was going in, but nobody was hurt in that crash.
