Many Iowan college students are turning their tassel this month, but turning from being student to a member of the workforce may take longer. Kathleen Gannon of the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, says students are adjusting. She says instead of taking a couple of weeks, it’s now taking months to find a job. Gannon says grads may find that getting a job is the first step in their long-term goals. They may not get the “dream job” the first time around, but may start out in a position that they can work up to their dream job. Gannon’s association represents 29 schools in Iowa.
