East Buchanan board closes school

June 19, 2002 By admin

An eastern Iowa school board has decided to close one of its school buildings. The East Buchanan of Winthrop board, on a split vote, moved to close the kindergarten through second grade building in Quasqueton after the end of the 2003 school year. The closing is dependent on the Winthrop building passing a state fire inspection. The closing is expected to save 100-thousand dollars. Around 100 students go to school in the building.
