Montour man will serve five years in prison

June 20, 2002 By admin

A 21-year-old Montour man will serve five years in prison after a wreck-filled police chase. Brenton Roberts will serve two concurrent five-year terms after a Benton County accident in March in which he ran into a van north of Bell Plaine. Police say Roberts stole a truck from a man who stopped to help, and took off. He then ran into another car, and stole another truck to get away again. Police finally stopped Roberts after shooting out the tires on the truck. Roberts faced 17 charges, including theft and drunken driving. He was also ordered to pay a 15-hundred-dollar fine..
