Petty makes pit stop in Iowa

NASCAR driver Kyle Petty stopped in Iowa today in his cross-country motorcycle trip. Petty says the “Charity Ride Across America” has become an annual tradition.He says they started the ride eight years ago to benefit several children’s hospitals. This year the money will help with a camp for chronically ill children that Petty and his wife are developing in honor of their late son Adam. Several NASCAR drivers, including Kyle Petty and father Richard Petty are on the ride.Petty made his comments during a stop today in Des Moines. They planned to stop in West Branch for fuel before traveling on to Chicago. The ride will wind up June 30th at the Petty farm in North Carolina.
