A Quad City-area meatpacker is recalling some 28-tons of ground beef. The first clues there might be a problem with e-coli bacteria in the meat came when three people reportedly got sick after a company picnic earlier this month in Cedar Rapids. Inspectors tracked the potentially tainted meat to J-and-B Meats of Coal Valley, Illinois, just across the Mississippi River from Davenport. The company’s recalling 63-thousand pounds of ground beef, both in patties and in bulk. The meat was sold under the names J-and-B Brand Meats and Martins and Sons.
