Financial report good for Maytag

July 16, 2002 By admin

The latest financial report for a central Iowa-based appliance maker looks good. Maytag reports second quarter sales of one-billion-193-million dollars, a rise of 22-percent from last year. Profits have tripled. Maytag chief financial officer Steven Wood offers an outlook for the rest of 2002. He says they continue to forecast earnings per share of a-dollar-fifty, resulting in full-year earnings of just over three dollars.According to the quarterly report, all of the company’s businesses delivered improved results and most of the sales growth was due to the purchase of Amana last August.
