Softball tournament gets underway tonight

July 29, 2002 By admin

It’s the girls turn to take to the diamond as the state softball tournament begins today in Fort Dodge. In Class 1-A, top-ranked H-L-V Victor plays Albert City-Truesdale. H-L-V coach John Prottsman says his team hasn’t let the top ranking bother them. Prottsman says the team has the same attitude, whether they’re ahead or behind. He says they have a mix of personalities on the team, but they work well together.Other 1A games today: Woodbury-Central plays West Marshall; Underwood plays Lansing Kee High; and South Hamilton plays Edgewood-Colesburg. There are a couple of 2-A games, too: Belmond-Klemme plays M-O-C/Floyd Valley; and Carlisle plays Clear Creek-Amana. The rest of the 2-A games will be played Tuesday, as will all four Class 3-A games.
