Murder investigation underway in Rock Valley

August 2, 2002 By admin

Authorities in Rock Valley have called the D-C-I and Sioux County sheriff to help investigate after the body of a woman was found on the town’s west side. A pedestrian found the body at about six Thursday morning, among trees along the Kiwanis Trail on Rock Valley’s west side. Rock Valley city administrator Thom van Maanen says no matter what the cause of death, a full investigation’s warranted. He says any body found in Rock Valley means it’s a case of a suspicious nature, as it’s something out of the ordinary. But the city official doesn’t think residents need to feel threatened. Police haven’t said they think a widespread investigation is warranted, or that anyone should be afraid.
