U-of-Dubuque hires Mankato State coach

August 15, 2002 By admin

Dan Runkle has been named the new director of athletics at the University of Dubuque. Runkle takes over after a successful 21-year stint as the head football coach at Mankato State University in Minnesota. Runkle says the Dubuque athletic department has a lot of potential. Runkle says as the A-D, his main concern is fielding a well-rounded program. His concentration won’t be solely on football. He says there’s a great women’s volleyball program at the University, and other sports show potential as well.
