UNI gives Peace a chance

September 9, 2002 By admin

Today is the second annual “Day of Peace” at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Chris Carney, secretary of the group, “UNI in Peace” that organized the event, says they began planning last year’s event long before September 11th after attending a class together on human rights.Carney says they have one goal, to have a day of peace where they pause to think about the difference that one individual can make. Carney says the events begin this morning with a Peace Fair. All the events are being held in the UNI student union.
