Victim’s names released in Brooklyn crash

Authorities have released the names now of a Davenport mother and her child who died Friday night in a crash near Brooklyn, Iowa.21-year-old Jessica Mae Hernandez and her 2-year-old son, David, died when their Honda Civic crossed the median, collided with a pickup truck and burst into flames on Interstate 80. The driver of the truck, 23-year-old Joel Owens Kercheval, was taken to a Grinnell hospital and was listed in good condition. The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the accident.
