Iowans who are allergic to nuts will want to avoid Kemps chocolate chip ice cream. Kemps says cashews, filberts, hazelnuts and almonds may have gotten into the ice cream even though they’re not on the ingredient list. Minneapolis-based Marigold Foods is recalling the ice cream sold in supermarkets in our state and a half-dozen others in the Midwest. This recall covers only paper half gallons of Kemps with the code date 196-2-2 printed on the rim of the lid. Consumers should return the ice cream to the place of purchase for a full refund or call Marigold Foods at 1-800-726-6455.
