Cyclone coach says there’s lots to play for this week

November 19, 2002 By admin

Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says his players are aware of what is on the line this Saturday when the Cyclones close out the regular season against Connecticut. A victory would close out Iowa State’s first perfect season at home in 85-years and help the Cyclones get to a better bowl. Despite four losses in their last five games McCarney says the attitude remains positive. He says they’re playing for an 8th regular season win and a 9th win in the bowl game, and they’re excited about it.U-Conn is 5-6 on the season but McCarney says the Huskies are finishing the season on a roll, scoring lots of points recently. McCarney says the Huskies 38-0 win over Navy last week is proof of how well this team is playing.
