Low rates raise interest in homebuying

Interest rates have continued to fall throughout 2002. A realtor says we’re seeing more people able to buy homes, especially first-time buyers, who are learning they can afford the home they wanted with mortgage-interest rates down. She says first-time buyers are really excited about the interest rates.Karen Ott is a real-estate agent in Bettendorf, and an educator for the Iowa Association of Realtors. She says the low rates are enticing more people into purchasing real estate as an investment. Any tips from a professional realtor on looking for property to buy as an investment? She says the location of the property is still the most important thing when looking for an investment.Ott sells real estate in the Quad Cities but says the low interest rates are making the outlook for homebuyers and real estate investors across the state.
