A Calfornia-based acting company opened its annual holiday show in the central Iowa town of Perry this week. “Hometown Christmas” is a production that’s part dinner theatre and part interactive family gathering, according to Anne Zimmerman, spokeswoman for the Hotel Pattee. The ten cast members are from the Lamb’s Players Theatre of San Diego where a similar performance is put on at the famed Hotel Del Coronado. Zimmerman says the Perry production is set in 1913 and isn’t done on a separate stage, but amongst the tables full of guests for a very intimate feel.Zimmerman says the show blends original songs, stories and dances that celebrate those who came from around the world to settle the Iowa prairie. Performances run through December 22nd. For details, call 888-424-4268 or surf to “www.hotelpattee.com”.
