January 8, 2003 By admin

Seven of the nine people who died a week ago on Interstate-80 near Menlo had jobs in Chicago, and all were from Mexico. Three woman and six men were killed in the crash that happened at about 2:30 in the morning when a pickup going eastbound crossed the median and struck a westbound semi. The Mexican Consulate in Omaha helped identify the dead. Most were in their early 20s. One was 18. Many were related. There were two married couples and two were cousins.
