January 14, 2003 By admin

The unexpected death of a public employee in eastern Iowa will be examined further. Linn County authorities are investigating the death of an employee who collapsed Monday while working at the county shop near Center Point. 48-year-old Max Pflughaupt of Center Point collapsed about eight Monday morning. Co-workers performed CPR till emergency medical workers arrived, and took Pflughaupt by air ambulance. He later died. Pflughaupt had been a heavy-equipment operator for the county for about five years and had worked before that in the county conservation department for ten years. Funeral services are pending.
