Iowa begins key three-game home stretch

February 14, 2003 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes play their next three games at home beginning with tomorrow’s matchup with Penn State. The Hawkeyes are 4-5 after a Wednesday night loss at Minnesota. Coach Steve Alford says Penn State will be carefree with nothing to lose, while it’s a “must win” for his team. One positive from the Minnesota game was the return of center Jared Reiner who played well in a limited role after missing three games with a sprained knee.Iowa won the first matchup at Penn State. The Nittany Lions are winless in the Big Ten and coach Jerry Dunn is looking for something positive to build on during the stretch run.
