UNI ready for first Bracket Busters

Northern Iowa steps out of Missouri Valley Conference action tomorrow to take part in the first-annual “Bracket Busters”. It is a series of games matching teams from the so-called “Mid-Major Conferences” designed to give those programs more exposure heading into the post-season. U-N-I visits Louisiana Tech and while these games will benefit teams that are considered at-large possibilities for the N-C-A-A tournament, Panther coach Greg McDermott feels it is a plus for his program, as he says you never know when you’ll have the opportunity for this type of exposure. McDermott says Louisiana Tech is playing its best basketball right now and says it is a tough chore for his team.
