Large Cheeto on its way to Algona

March 7, 2003 By admin

What’s billed as the world’s largest Cheeto is apparently on its way to the northern Iowa town of Algona. KLGA’s afternoon man Bryce Wilson discovered the five-inch long Cheeto on a website while prepping for his show. It was for sale on e-Bay by a Navy officer Mike Evans, who’s stationed in Hawaii. Wilson started raising money to buy the Cheeto then Evans said he’s give the snack to Algona, free, with money raised being donated to charity. Frito Lay is also chipping in one-thousand dollars to the Food Pantry of Kossuth County. Plans are to have an auction of Frito Lay items for charity and then to have a public unveiling of the big Cheeto, which may become something of a tourist attraction.
