Des Moines teen charged in hit and run

April 1, 2003 By admin

A teenager in Des Moines faces charges in connection with a hit-and-run accident in a parking lot. Marisol Cayetano turned herself in after images of the accident outside a discount store were publicly released. The woman who was backed over died Saturday. Cayetano’s attorney says she didn’t know she’d run over anybody; she thought she’s hit a curb. Police have charged the teen with failure to render aid and leaving the scene of an accident. If convicted, she faces up to two years in prison. She’s also charged with driving without insurance.
