ISU looks to up the production of the ground game

April 17, 2003 By admin

With a new quarterback at the helm Iowa State coach Dan McCarney wants the Cyclones ground game to become more productive this season. The Cyclones rode the arm of Seneca Wallace last year but the running game dropped off. McCarney says the ground game may determine just how successful next season is. Second-team All-Big 12 selection Bob Montgomery returns to the offensive line and says that unit must help the new quarterback adjust. He says they have to do more to protect the quarterback and help them out to keep them from getting rattled. Montgomery says the offensive line will be improved next season and deeper as well.
