This afternoon, Governor Tom Vilsack will mark Earth Day by helping to break ground for a project in southwest Iowa. Vilsack will be in Lenox, a town that’s erecting a wind turbine which will eventually produce 10 percent of the electricity used by customers of the city-owned utility. Vilsack says the Earth Day message this year in Iowa is focused on renewable energy. Vilsack will speak at two o’clock at the site just outside of Lenox where the wind turbine will be placed.
