It’s not just the temperature that’s hot. So are Powerball tickets. Iowa Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer says whenever the jackpot reaches nine-figures, people starting snapping those tickets up at a fast pace. Neubauer says the jackpot is estimated at 131-million dollars for the Saturday night drawing but may climb much higher, based on sales. Neubauer says retailers of all sorts of products notice a slow-down during the summer months, but she says this big jackpot will undoubtedly spark higher sales.She says this is the highest the Powerball prize has been in a little over half a year.The jackpot from Christmas Day of 2002 was worth 314-point-nine million dollars and was won by a man in West Virginia.
