Two Waterloo Bucks have been selected to play for the South Division in the 2003 Northwoods League All-Star Game Wednesday in Madison, Wisconsin. Infielder Kyle Haines and pitcher JoshKauten were selected to represent the Bucks. Haines, a junior from Eastern Illinois, was named to be the starting second baseman, but due to a broken hand will not be able to participate. Haines is hitting .350 with 14 runs batted in and 12 stolen bases. Haines appreciates being selected to the All-Star game despite the fact that Waterloo has not played that well this season. Kauten owns a 2-2 record, a 3.28 E-R-A and is holding opponents to a .231 average. He also plays for Illinois State and is a Vinton, Iowa native. Kauten says it means more to him to be selected from a team that may not get noticed because it has struggled this season. Other players chosen for the game that have Iowa ties are: Nate Yoho of the University of Iowa from Rochester, Jake Hanson of UNI from Madison, Justin Sokol of Iowa Central Community College from Thunder Bay and D.J. Roshone of Iowa Western C.C. from Madison.
